WINFRED GAUL

Born 1928 in Düsseldorf – died 2003 in Düsseldorf.
Studied at the State Academy of Art and Design, Stuttgart. Participation at Documenta II, Kassel 1959 and Documenta 6, Kassel 1977. Winner of Villa-Romana-Award, Florence 1964 and Lovis-Corinth-Award, 1994. Retrospective at Landesmuseum, Münster, Kunstsammlung Ludwigshafen, Museum Ulm, Kunsthalle Bielefeld, 1973/74 and Pinacoteca di Macerata, Italy 1982. A great number of solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Elaborate bibliography available. Represented in museums and private collections in Germany, Italy, Belgium and USA.
